The beating is not funny. To a Westerner the defendant’s reasoning is hilarious. It’s not. He’s serious. From the UK Daily Post comes a report that Shamshu Miah (photo above), a Muslim, beat his wife when she refused to bring him a cigarette. Shamshu claimed in Court that it was perfectly okay for him to knock his lady around, because his Islamic religion tells him it’s okay to tune her up if she misbehaves. Guess what. It’s more than okay. It’s an order.
Quran 4:34 says:
“Men have authority over women because Allah has made the one superior to the other, and because they spend their wealth to maintain them. Good women are obedient. They guard their unseen parts because Allah has guarded them. As for those from whom you fear disobedience, admonish them and forsake them in beds apart, and beat them…”
Read the report. Old Shamshu got a little slap on the wrist and his wife misses him – she wants him to come home now.
The bitch just wasn’t dialed in to the Quran.
Next time, ever so much the wiser now, maybe she’ll just get him that cigarette.
