Obama About To Pull Rug From Under Israel’s Feet – Again

The Drudge Report headliner this morning, lifted out of Foreign Policy magazine is one that should not come as a surprise to anyone – yet it looks like a terrible harbinger of things to come.  The Obama Administration is reportedly set to rebuke Israel in the U.N. Security Council for its ongoing construction of housing subdivisions (usually called settlements to paint a false portrait of encroachment) within Israel.  The Palestinians are after more land, don’t you see.  In fact, they want that particular land within Jerusalem where the construction is going on.

While it is never apparent from any of the mainstream news reports, the developments in question are actually inside Jerusalem – which belongs to Israel.  The Palestinians have been contesting this for years.  Actually, despite what the PLO, Fatah, Hezbollah, or Hamas may say about a desire to live in peace next door to their Jewish brethren, nothing could be further from the truth.  The object of the jihad game is always the destruction of Israel and the seizure of her lands, goods, money, and chattels as “booty”.  It’s all in the way of Muhammad and for the pleasure of Allah:

“The U.S. informed Arab governments Tuesday that it will support a U.N. Security Council statement reaffirming that the 15-nation body “does not accept the legitimacy of continued Israeli settlement activity,” a move aimed at avoiding the prospect of having to veto a stronger Palestinian resolution calling the settlements illegal…”

This is so misleading – as if the United States vetoing something the Palestinians are putting forth toward the destruction of Israel is unthinkable.  This is another politically correct way of stating that Barack Hussein Obama is about to make another move in turning his back on the United States’ best ally in the region.

“…But the Palestinians rejected the American offer following a meeting late Wednesday of Arab representatives and said it is planning to press for a vote on its resolution on Friday, according to officials familar with the issue. The decision to reject the American offer raised the prospect that the Obama adminstration will cast its first ever veto in the U.N. Security Council.

Still, the U.S. offer signaled a renewed willingness to seek a way out of the current impasse, even if it requires breaking with Israel and joining others in the council in sending a strong message to its key ally to stop its construction of new settlements. The Palestinian delegation, along with Lebanon, the Security Council’s only Arab member state, have asked the council’s president this evening to schedule a meeting for Friday. But it remained unclear whether the Palestinian move today to reject the U.S. offer is simply a negotiating tactic aimed at extracting a better deal from Washington…”

You can rest assured that the World of Islam is always looking for a better offer and more territory to conquer.

To understand the repeated wearisome breakdowns of the delusional Middle East Peace Process, during which the Palestinians have relentlessly violated cease-fire resolutions and then blamed Israel, one needs to look backward in history to the Treaty of Hudaibiyyah, negotiated between Muhammad and the Quraysh tribe in the year 628 A.D.  Robert Spencer, eminent scholar of Islam, wrote about this truce in his book The Truth About Muhammad.

Muhammad violated the treaty when it became to his advantage to do so.  This laid the traditional groundwork for any treaty entered into between Muslims and Infidels to be broken whenever it will strengthen the cause of advancing Islam.  The late Yasser Arafat, widely recognized as the inventor of modern Muslim terrorism, followed suit during the Palestinian intifadas against Israel – after cease-fires were in effect.

Now, Obama stands poised to order a vote either against the Palestinians or against the Israelis.  Any guess as to which way he will go?

About John L. Work

John Lloyd Work has taken the detective thriller genre and woven an occasional political thread throughout his books, morphing what was once considered an arena reserved for pure fiction into believable, terrifying, futuristic, true-to-life “faction”. He traveled the uniformed patrolman’s path, answering brutal domestic violence calls, high speed chases, homicides, suicides, armed robberies, breaking up bar fights, and the accompanying sporadic unpredictable moments of terror - which eventually come to all police officers, sometimes when least expected. He gradually absorbed the hard fact that the greatest danger a cop faces comes in the form of day-to-day encounters with emotionally disturbed, highly intoxicated people. Those experiences can wear a cop down, grinding on his own emotions and psyche. Prolonged exposure to the worst of people and people at their worst can soon make him believe that the world is a sewer. That police officer’s reality is a common thread throughout Work’s crime fiction books. Following his graduation from high school, Work studied music and became a professional performer, conductor and teacher. Life made a sudden, unexpected turn when, one afternoon in 1976, his cousin, who eventually became the Chief of the Ontario, California, Police Department, talked him into riding along during a patrol shift. The musician was hooked into becoming a police officer. After working for two years as a reserve officer in Southern California and in Boulder, Colorado, he joined the Longmont, Colorado Police Department. Work served there for seven years, investigating crimes as a patrolman, detective and patrol sergeant. In 1989 he joined the Adams County, Colorado Sheriff’s Office, where he soon learned that locking a criminal up inside a jail or prison does not put him out of business. As a sheriff’s detective he investigated hundreds of crimes, including eleven contract murder conspiracies which originated “inside the walls”. While serving on the Adams County North Metro Gang Task Force and as a member of the Colorado Security Threat Intelligence Network Group (STING), Work designed a seminar on how a criminal’s mind formulates his victim selection strategy. Over a period of six years he taught that class in sheriff’s academies and colleges throughout Colorado. He saw the world of crime both inside the walls and out on the streets. His final experiences in the criminal law field were with the Colorado State Public Defender’s Office, where for nearly two years he investigated felonies from the defense side of the Courtroom. Twenty-two years of observing human nature at its worst, combined with watching some profound changes in America’s culture and political institutions, provided plenty of material for his first three books. A self-published author, he just finished writing his tenth thriller.
