Diana West devoted her weekly column to a summation of facts and surrounding circumstances in a rather controversial and important criminal investigation that is ongoing in Arizona. She asks the question, why are the media and political leaders not covering it? Hopefully, the readers of the 130 or so newspapers in which her column appears will sit up this weekend and take notice – that is to say if the editors of those newspapers have the courage to print it. Some of her editors have refused to publish her columns when they dealt with this particular issue. It is verboten territory.
So, I just spent two hours (well, a good hour and twenty minutes, anyway) watching and listening to the press conference held within the last few days by Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio and his lead Cold Case Posse Investigator, Mike Zullo. The substance of the conference was some pretty powerful forensic evidence, presented step by step, which led the posse to believe that the long form birth certificate, released last April by The White House as a bona fide credential proving Barack Obama’s natural born citizenship, and his Selective Service registration card, are both forgeries. Here’s the link to the video of the entire press conference. You can decide for yourself if the material should be troubling – not only to the people of Arizona and the United States, but to the American Press Corps.
As a retired law enforcement officer I’ve followed this fascinating investigation closely for over three years now. The most disturbing issue in watching the video of the press conference was the nature of the questions posed to the Sheriff by the members of the media who were present, following the evidentiary presentation. There were several attempts to bait Arpaio into accusing the President of having committed the crimes – and living a lie. One reporter, unidentified, began to argue that this issue has been debated, investigated and resolved all over the country – ergo, why should anyone give much weight to a County Sheriff in Arizona. I could detect anger and utter panic in some of their voices – in a couple of cases bordering on hysteria. They don’t want to hear this and, judging by what has transpired since the conference in the nation’s newpapers and televsion news broadcasts, they’re not going to report it.
Arpaio stuck to the facts of the document examination, which clearly reveal that the supposed bona fides are, indeed, apparent forgeries – and that he does not know who actually committed the crimes. But he intends to find out who did it.
What is most troubling is that the American Press Corps is Hell bent on running interference for, and covering up for, some very serious felonies that have changed the course of the nation’s history. That, ladies and gentlemen, is truly astonishing.
