I’m watching C-Span and listening to the new Ambassador-nominee to Libya, Deborah Kay Jones, addressing the Senate Foreign Relations Committee. The depth and breadth of her cavalier arrogance are absolutely stupefying. And her ignorance, not to mention the abject ignorance of every lawmaker who has spoken (with the exception of Bob Corker), of what is really going on in Libya (the prominence of the Muslim Brotherhood in the anti-Ghadaffi revolt, and the subsequent manifestation of Islam’s historical mandates) is beyond breathtaking.
They’ve talked about everything imaginable to a politician, except Islam’s doctrines and the part they played in Ghadaffi’s overthrow and murder. And wait until you hear the three books she recommends to the Libyan people, so that they may learn their lessons in Western style governance. This is very difficult to watch.
We are headed for nothing but more trouble in the Middle East, until someone – anyone – in Washington, D.C. cracks open the Quran and gets a clue as to what forces are really at work.
Here’s a link to C-Span, where you can watch this comedy of continuing errors and the misunderstanding of what we’re up against.
We are in such deep trouble.
