Limbaugh’s Theorem Explains Why Obama Will Skate On All The Scandals

Barack and HillarySo, how come is it, you ask, that so many Americans still support Barack Obama in the face of the Benghazi scandal, the IRS scandal, the NSA e-communications snooping scandal, the coming IRS health care enforcement mess, and the DOJ media phone records scandal?

Easily explained, says radio talk show host Rush Limbaguh.  It’s Limbaugh’s Theorem:

Low information (dumb) voters, who voted for Obama and still support him, do not in any way connect the nation’s disastrous malaise with Barack Obama.  They believe that none of it is his fault.  I can accept that idea, wholeheartedly.  From Rush’s website, here are excerpts of his thoughts:

…Basically I evolved the Limbaugh Theorem to explain something that didn’t make any sense to me. I saw polls which showed the American people by vast majorities supported Obama’s agenda, and yet every aspect of it they opposed. They didn’t associate him with it. It was a New York Times story. I’ll never forget it. The American people opposed the direction the country’s going, and issue by issue by issue they opposed everything Obama was doing. Every element of the Obama agenda, a majority of the people oppose it, and yet they support him by 50, 55%. I said, “How can this be?”

It also has something to do with the lapdog media dogmatically refusing to turn on their favorite guy and hound him like they’d have hounded George W. Bush for the same tyrannical policies and infringements on freedom.  Let’s go on:

…There’s only one answer. People do not associate Obama with his agenda, and that’s because he’s permanently campaigning. He’s running against his own agenda, by design, on purpose. He’s running against what’s happening. He makes people think that he doesn’t like what’s happening and he’s trying to fix it when in fact everything that’s happening is precisely because he wants it to and has made it happen…

Barack Obama is the Grand Master of the brazen lie who makes Bill Clinton look like a Little Leaguer.  I’ve never seen anything to compare with it.  He is truly amazing to watch.  I don’t know if you can find another prevaricator to compare with him in the history of the entire world.

…Yeah, well, if it were George W. Bush’s “Health Care Law’s Unpopularity Reaches New Highs,” his [Obama’s] disapproval would be 60%, because the media would be leading the charge. That’s one of the reasons why Obama’s static is the media does not lead the charge against him. But even so, people are opposed to Obama’s policies without the media helping them along. They instinctively oppose them. But his approval rating remains high.

I’m telling you, that’s because low-information voters are in these polls, and they think that what’s happening in the country has nothing to do with Obama. Because he’s out campaigning against things. He’s perpetually campaigning. He’s not seen as responsible for any of this….

I’m very sorry to write this, but I believe Mr. Limbaugh is correct.  Barack Obama will never have to answer for any of his crimes – or his figurative shredding of the Constitution to accomplish his destructive agenda.  The traditional  media and the American Public’s low information (read that:  stupid beyond imagination) voters will never connect him with any of what’s going wrong.  It’s just not his fault.  He’s trying to fix it.  Really.  He says so.

About John L. Work

John Lloyd Work has taken the detective thriller genre and woven an occasional political thread throughout his books, morphing what was once considered an arena reserved for pure fiction into believable, terrifying, futuristic, true-to-life “faction”. He traveled the uniformed patrolman’s path, answering brutal domestic violence calls, high speed chases, homicides, suicides, armed robberies, breaking up bar fights, and the accompanying sporadic unpredictable moments of terror - which eventually come to all police officers, sometimes when least expected. He gradually absorbed the hard fact that the greatest danger a cop faces comes in the form of day-to-day encounters with emotionally disturbed, highly intoxicated people. Those experiences can wear a cop down, grinding on his own emotions and psyche. Prolonged exposure to the worst of people and people at their worst can soon make him believe that the world is a sewer. That police officer’s reality is a common thread throughout Work’s crime fiction books. Following his graduation from high school, Work studied music and became a professional performer, conductor and teacher. Life made a sudden, unexpected turn when, one afternoon in 1976, his cousin, who eventually became the Chief of the Ontario, California, Police Department, talked him into riding along during a patrol shift. The musician was hooked into becoming a police officer. After working for two years as a reserve officer in Southern California and in Boulder, Colorado, he joined the Longmont, Colorado Police Department. Work served there for seven years, investigating crimes as a patrolman, detective and patrol sergeant. In 1989 he joined the Adams County, Colorado Sheriff’s Office, where he soon learned that locking a criminal up inside a jail or prison does not put him out of business. As a sheriff’s detective he investigated hundreds of crimes, including eleven contract murder conspiracies which originated “inside the walls”. While serving on the Adams County North Metro Gang Task Force and as a member of the Colorado Security Threat Intelligence Network Group (STING), Work designed a seminar on how a criminal’s mind formulates his victim selection strategy. Over a period of six years he taught that class in sheriff’s academies and colleges throughout Colorado. He saw the world of crime both inside the walls and out on the streets. His final experiences in the criminal law field were with the Colorado State Public Defender’s Office, where for nearly two years he investigated felonies from the defense side of the Courtroom. Twenty-two years of observing human nature at its worst, combined with watching some profound changes in America’s culture and political institutions, provided plenty of material for his first three books. A self-published author, he just finished writing his tenth thriller.
