The Washington Post has several sideshow stories, one of them by Dan Lamothe, up today regarding NBC TV Anchor Brian Williams’ oft-repeated fabrication (lie) about being aboard a U.S. Army helicopter that was shot down in Iraq in 2003. After listening to Williams’ apology for the whopper, which he attributed to just becoming so confused about which chopper he was actually aboard, I found myself wondering why he either hasn’t resigned from NBC or been fired by NBC. I know many of you may be asking the same question. How can that be? Some, including Rush Limbaugh, are of course justifiably attacking NBC’s journalistic credibility. I would not bet any of my hard-earned money on Williams losing his job over this.
