Sydney Morning Herald Pillories A True Hero For Defending Freedom Of Speech

Geert Wilders is one of Western Civilization’s great heroes.  He has stood alone, at times, and spoken the truth about what the invasion of Islam is doing to The Netherlands, to Europe, and to the United States.  His fifteen minute movie Fitna is a masterpiece, difficult for some to watch, and a warning which many in the West choose to ignore.  His positions on stopping the Muslim invasion have been characterized as far right wing (see the caption in the above photo), xenophobic, racist and he has been dragged into criminal Court for “inciting hatred.”  Such prosecutions are not unusual in the Old World.  In France the actress Brigitte Bardot has been convicted no less than three times for speaking out against the doctrines of Islam.

With thanks to Jed West for the link, we have an opportunity to examine parts of a report from The Sydney Morning Herald, in which Wilders recently announced that he intends to broadcast caricatures of Muhammad via Dutch Public Television on Saturday, June 20, 2015.  So, let’s look at how this report is framed and the template which has been constructed around Wilders’ defiance of the Shariah (Muslim Law), which proscribes the death penalty for publishing such material.  By the way, Wilders has been living under constant police and military protection for years, moving from safe house to safe house, because of Muslim threats to kill him.

The Hague: Publicity-seeking Dutch anti-Islam politician Geert Wilders is to broadcast cartoons of the prophet Muhammad on television during time reserved for political parties, his party says.

It has apparently escaped the consciousness of the Herald that the threats on Wilders’ life are not idle, or bluster.  Vincent van Gogh’s grandson, Theo van Gogh was assassinated by a Muslim in retaliation for a film he produced on doctrine-based Muslim mistreatment of females.  The intended event is much more than a cheap publicity grab, which the Herald portrays for its readers.  The man is defending what is left of Western freedom of speech.

The cartoons will be shown on Dutch public television on Saturday, Mr Wilders’ Freedom Party (PVV) said on Friday, adding that they would be repeated on June 24 and July 3.

Mr Wilders said he was making the broadcasts to defend freedom of speech after two militants were shot dead while attacking a Muhammad cartoon contest in Texas last month.

The event in Garland, Texas to which the Herald alludes (and notice that there is no mention of the word Muslim in reporting the deaths of the dead militants) resulted in a death fatwa issuing for Pamela Geller, who sponsored the cartoon contest.

Many Muslims find drawings of the prophet to be disrespectful or outright blasphemous and Dutch authorities have said such a move could see Mr Wilders’ right to airtime suspended for up to four years.

No defense of free speech in this report by the Herald.  Thank you,  O brave, courageous Dutch authorities.  You are in the process of kneeling and surrendering to a system of theo-political despotism which will place you into slavery forever.  Personally, I am offended by Islam, which brutally represses women and non-Muslims wherever Shariah is the law of the land.  I find Muslim doctrines to be barbaric, savage, and cruel beyond words – with amputations of limbs for petty crimes, public lashing for consuming alcoholic beverages, female genital mutilation, and stoning adulterers to death.  And I find the Sydney Morning Herald to reek of the stench of cowardice.

Dutch embassies have reportedly been warned about what measures to take if the cartoons are broadcast, as they could spark violent protests…

Yes.  I got that concept a long time ago.  Do or say something that offends Islam and Muslims will try to kill you.  Or me.

…If a judge decides that a hate crime has been committed then the authority can withdraw a party’s right to airtime for up to four years.

Ever since forming his own party in 2006, Mr Wilders has been a divisive figure in the Netherlands, which prides itself on its long but fading tradition of multicultural tolerance

Ah, yes.  Defending traditions and freedoms near and dear to the hearts of Western Civilization’s citizens is divisive.  Defending one’s national borders from uncontrolled illegal immigration is divisive.  And as for that fading tradition of multicultural tolerance – show me one Muslim Shariah-compliant state which tolerates Christianity, Judaism or any religious doctrine which is non-Muslim.

Geert Wilders’ name should be enshrined alongside that of Charles Martel.

About John L. Work

John Lloyd Work has taken the detective thriller genre and woven an occasional political thread throughout his books, morphing what was once considered an arena reserved for pure fiction into believable, terrifying, futuristic, true-to-life “faction”. He traveled the uniformed patrolman’s path, answering brutal domestic violence calls, high speed chases, homicides, suicides, armed robberies, breaking up bar fights, and the accompanying sporadic unpredictable moments of terror - which eventually come to all police officers, sometimes when least expected. He gradually absorbed the hard fact that the greatest danger a cop faces comes in the form of day-to-day encounters with emotionally disturbed, highly intoxicated people. Those experiences can wear a cop down, grinding on his own emotions and psyche. Prolonged exposure to the worst of people and people at their worst can soon make him believe that the world is a sewer. That police officer’s reality is a common thread throughout Work’s crime fiction books. Following his graduation from high school, Work studied music and became a professional performer, conductor and teacher. Life made a sudden, unexpected turn when, one afternoon in 1976, his cousin, who eventually became the Chief of the Ontario, California, Police Department, talked him into riding along during a patrol shift. The musician was hooked into becoming a police officer. After working for two years as a reserve officer in Southern California and in Boulder, Colorado, he joined the Longmont, Colorado Police Department. Work served there for seven years, investigating crimes as a patrolman, detective and patrol sergeant. In 1989 he joined the Adams County, Colorado Sheriff’s Office, where he soon learned that locking a criminal up inside a jail or prison does not put him out of business. As a sheriff’s detective he investigated hundreds of crimes, including eleven contract murder conspiracies which originated “inside the walls”. While serving on the Adams County North Metro Gang Task Force and as a member of the Colorado Security Threat Intelligence Network Group (STING), Work designed a seminar on how a criminal’s mind formulates his victim selection strategy. Over a period of six years he taught that class in sheriff’s academies and colleges throughout Colorado. He saw the world of crime both inside the walls and out on the streets. His final experiences in the criminal law field were with the Colorado State Public Defender’s Office, where for nearly two years he investigated felonies from the defense side of the Courtroom. Twenty-two years of observing human nature at its worst, combined with watching some profound changes in America’s culture and political institutions, provided plenty of material for his first three books. A self-published author, he just finished writing his tenth thriller.
