GOP Powers Would Rather Elect Hillary Clinton Than Donald Trump

I don’t know if it’s correct to call what the Republican elites are lining up to do to Donald Trump a political party suicide, or a national homicide.  The powers that be throughout the upper ranks are said to be plotting along several lines, including organizing a third party candidate run in order to siphon votes from Mr. Trump – even if it means handing the Oval Office to Hillary Clinton.  The Weekly Standard’s chief William Kristol, among other “conservatives”, is deeply involved in formulating plans to sink Mr. Trump.  There was a report about the GOP’s current anti-Trump machinations on March 20 in the New York Times, to which talk show host Rush Limbaugh alluded during his broadcast yesterday.  Here’s a piece of the NYT story, which I highly recommend to my readers:

Republican leaders adamantly opposed to Donald J. Trump’s candidacy are preparing a 100-day campaign to deny him the presidential nomination, starting with an aggressive battle in Wisconsin’s April 5 primary and extending into the summer, with a delegate-by-delegate lobbying effort that would cast Mr. Trump as a calamitous choice for the general election.

Recognizing that Mr. Trump has seized a formidable advantage in the race, they say that an effort to block him would rely on an array of desperation measures, the political equivalent of guerrilla fighting…

…But should that effort falter, leading conservatives are prepared to field an independent candidate in the general election, to defend Republican principles and offer traditional conservatives an alternative to Mr. Trump’s hard-edged populism. They described their plans in interviews after Mr. Trump’s victories last Tuesday in Florida and three other states…

To defend Republican principles. Really?

Republican principles to which the $800.00 suit honchos now cling include fast-tracking Barack Obama to make international trade agreements which are, and will continue to be, disastrous for the American worker and for the economy.  Faux conservative Ted Cruz argued against, then voted in favor of, granting Obama that fast track for trade agreements.

Republican principles have become repeated midnight amnesty attempts for illegal aliens and obstructing efforts to secure the southern border, all to ensure the unending supply of cheap, de facto slave labor, which has shrunken America’s wage scale and put untold numbers of Americans out of jobs.  Coincidentally, that invasion from Latin America is about to turn this nation into a one-party political system.  The amnesty idea is alive and well in the GOP.  If the amnesty happens, the Republic is finished.

Republican principles now include keeping our best and bravest involved in eternal, internecine tribal wars in the World of Islam – religious sectarian conflicts which have raged unending for centuries upon centuries.  There is no difference between the foreign policies of Barack Obama and George W. Bush with regard to sending our occupational military forces into the Middle Eastern morass.  Bush sent troops into Afghanistan in 2001 – nearly fifteen years ago.  Obama has kept them there and gotten us involved in even more Muslim civil wars.  Remember that Nobel Peace Prize?  That was a good one.

Republican principles include continuing to allow the massive immigration of Muslims into the United States, and refusing to pause for an examination of Islam’s doctrines – which promise to destroy our culture and replace our system of governance with Shariah.

Well, well, well, GOP big-boys, that is quite a set of principles.  Count me out.

Comes now Donald Trump, who is ruffling more than a few GOP big-boys’ feathers by promising to solve some of these problems that the GOP big boys had a huge part in creating.  The big boys don’t want him and they don’t want the problems they created solved.  Oh, many American voters are showing their support for Trump in the nation’s primary elections.  But the “principled” upper ranks of the Republican Party – the yacht club, country club types – are doing everything they possibly can do to deny him the nomination.  They’ll do anything and say anything – even if it means giving Hillary Clinton, whose life-long history of mendacity is beyond mind-boggling, the reins of power.

Think about that.

So, the death struggle, the political electoral war for the very survival of the American Republic, now pits the forces of the nation’s voters against the GOP, the Democrat Party, the American Press Corps, the American television and radio broadcast media, and most of the governments of the entire European continent, all of which are in the iron-fisted grips of the hard left/Islam alliance.  The odds don’t look good, do they.  The American John and Jane Q. Public have their backs to the wall with Donald Trump beside them.

Think I’m exaggerating?  I wish I were.

About John L. Work

John Lloyd Work has taken the detective thriller genre and woven an occasional political thread throughout his books, morphing what was once considered an arena reserved for pure fiction into believable, terrifying, futuristic, true-to-life “faction”. He traveled the uniformed patrolman’s path, answering brutal domestic violence calls, high speed chases, homicides, suicides, armed robberies, breaking up bar fights, and the accompanying sporadic unpredictable moments of terror - which eventually come to all police officers, sometimes when least expected. He gradually absorbed the hard fact that the greatest danger a cop faces comes in the form of day-to-day encounters with emotionally disturbed, highly intoxicated people. Those experiences can wear a cop down, grinding on his own emotions and psyche. Prolonged exposure to the worst of people and people at their worst can soon make him believe that the world is a sewer. That police officer’s reality is a common thread throughout Work’s crime fiction books. Following his graduation from high school, Work studied music and became a professional performer, conductor and teacher. Life made a sudden, unexpected turn when, one afternoon in 1976, his cousin, who eventually became the Chief of the Ontario, California, Police Department, talked him into riding along during a patrol shift. The musician was hooked into becoming a police officer. After working for two years as a reserve officer in Southern California and in Boulder, Colorado, he joined the Longmont, Colorado Police Department. Work served there for seven years, investigating crimes as a patrolman, detective and patrol sergeant. In 1989 he joined the Adams County, Colorado Sheriff’s Office, where he soon learned that locking a criminal up inside a jail or prison does not put him out of business. As a sheriff’s detective he investigated hundreds of crimes, including eleven contract murder conspiracies which originated “inside the walls”. While serving on the Adams County North Metro Gang Task Force and as a member of the Colorado Security Threat Intelligence Network Group (STING), Work designed a seminar on how a criminal’s mind formulates his victim selection strategy. Over a period of six years he taught that class in sheriff’s academies and colleges throughout Colorado. He saw the world of crime both inside the walls and out on the streets. His final experiences in the criminal law field were with the Colorado State Public Defender’s Office, where for nearly two years he investigated felonies from the defense side of the Courtroom. Twenty-two years of observing human nature at its worst, combined with watching some profound changes in America’s culture and political institutions, provided plenty of material for his first three books. A self-published author, he just finished writing his tenth thriller.
