Here is Canada’s boy wonder Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, speaking to a mosque full of Muslims on the occasion of Eid al-Adha. Notice his allusion to the fact that the “sisters” are seated in the balcony, segregated from the men.
If you look at the forehead of the scowling Muslim (the one who is holding a cell phone) standing behind Trudeau’s right shoulder, you will notice the zabiba (prayer mark) on his forehead, a circular raised callus which results from years of banging one’s head on the floor or rug while kneeling in prayer.
Given the violent history of Islam, the cruelty of its written doctrine, and Muhammad’s explicit instructions to his followers, Mr. Trudeau’s plaintive voice and innocent rhetoric sound like a high school senior’s commencement address delivered inside a maximum security prison housing unit to an audience of hardened, tattooed career criminals.
Were his persona and adolescent naivete not so tragic, one could laugh at him.
I’ve read and written far too much about Islam to find any humor in this vignette.
