Afghanistan: Women For Babies – Boys Are For Pleasure – And Our Bravest Fight On For This?

Here’s another tidbit that should interest Americans who are questioning why our best and bravest are fighting and dying for the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan.  Via DrudgeReport, The Guardian UK reports a scandal that was revealed by one of the thousands of stolen WikiLeaks cables – young boys who were hired by foreign contractors to entertain drugged- up Afghan police officers – by dressing as females and dancing for them.

 http://www.guardian.co.uk/world/2010/dec/02/foreign-contractors-hired-dancing-boys

“A scandal involving foreign contractors employed to train Afghan policemen who took drugs and paid for young “dancing boys” to entertain them in northern Afghanistan caused such panic that the interior minister begged the US embassy to try and “quash” the story, according to one of the US embassy cables released by WikiLeaks…”

Indeed.  I’ll bet he begged to have this one covered and concealed.

“…In a meeting with the assistant US ambassador, a panicked Hanif Atmar, the interior minister at the time of the episode last June, warned that the story would “endanger lives” and was particularly concerned that a video of the incident might be made public…”

Would that video go viral or what?

“…There is a long tradition of young boys dressing up as girls and dancing for men in Afghanistan, an activity that sometimes crosses the line into child abuse with Afghans keeping boys as possessions…”

Want some confirmation for that one?  Here it is from Joel Brinkley in the San Francisco Chronicle, via Diana West:

“…For centuries, Afghan men have taken boys, roughly 9 to 15 years old, as lovers. Some research suggests that half the Pashtun tribal members in Kandahar and other southern towns are bacha baz, the term for an older man with a boy lover. Literally it means “boy player.” The men like to boast about it.

“Having a boy has become a custom for us,” Enayatullah, a 42-year-old in Baghlan province, told a Reuters reporter. “Whoever wants to show off should have a boy.”…”

Here’s a little more on this from Islam Watch:

“…Below is the poem, “Perfumed Garden” by Abu Nuwas:

O the joy of sodomy!
So now be sodomites, you Arabs.
Turn not away from it–
therein is wondrous pleasure.

Take some coy lad with kiss-curls
twisting on his temple
and ride as he stands like some gazelle
standing to her mate…”

One more time:  Is Julian Assange the bad guy everyone says he is for bringing to light that our best and bravest fight on for one among many of Afghanistan’s uglier longstanding customs?  Or is our foreign policy perhaps in need of some re-examination?

By the way, my nephew, already a Purple-Hearted veteran of three combat tours in Iraq with the United States Army Infantry, is due to deploy to Afghanistan in the very near future.

About John L. Work

John Lloyd Work has taken the detective thriller genre and woven an occasional political thread throughout his books, morphing what was once considered an arena reserved for pure fiction into believable, terrifying, futuristic, true-to-life “faction”. He traveled the uniformed patrolman’s path, answering brutal domestic violence calls, high speed chases, homicides, suicides, armed robberies, breaking up bar fights, and the accompanying sporadic unpredictable moments of terror - which eventually come to all police officers, sometimes when least expected. He gradually absorbed the hard fact that the greatest danger a cop faces comes in the form of day-to-day encounters with emotionally disturbed, highly intoxicated people. Those experiences can wear a cop down, grinding on his own emotions and psyche. Prolonged exposure to the worst of people and people at their worst can soon make him believe that the world is a sewer. That police officer’s reality is a common thread throughout Work’s crime fiction books. Following his graduation from high school, Work studied music and became a professional performer, conductor and teacher. Life made a sudden, unexpected turn when, one afternoon in 1976, his cousin, who eventually became the Chief of the Ontario, California, Police Department, talked him into riding along during a patrol shift. The musician was hooked into becoming a police officer. After working for two years as a reserve officer in Southern California and in Boulder, Colorado, he joined the Longmont, Colorado Police Department. Work served there for seven years, investigating crimes as a patrolman, detective and patrol sergeant. In 1989 he joined the Adams County, Colorado Sheriff’s Office, where he soon learned that locking a criminal up inside a jail or prison does not put him out of business. As a sheriff’s detective he investigated hundreds of crimes, including eleven contract murder conspiracies which originated “inside the walls”. While serving on the Adams County North Metro Gang Task Force and as a member of the Colorado Security Threat Intelligence Network Group (STING), Work designed a seminar on how a criminal’s mind formulates his victim selection strategy. Over a period of six years he taught that class in sheriff’s academies and colleges throughout Colorado. He saw the world of crime both inside the walls and out on the streets. His final experiences in the criminal law field were with the Colorado State Public Defender’s Office, where for nearly two years he investigated felonies from the defense side of the Courtroom. Twenty-two years of observing human nature at its worst, combined with watching some profound changes in America’s culture and political institutions, provided plenty of material for his first three books. A self-published author, he just finished writing his tenth thriller.

What pisses me off is that Australian soldiers are dying to prevent radical Islam in a country whose constitution acknowledges Sharia Law while we are letting thousands of muslims flood into Australia so they can take over here.

We should be putting our efforts into keeping Australia muslim free or at least Sharia free.
